Established in 1992, Student Outreach Services (SOS) is a community service program  that promotes student interest in higher education by increasing awareness of college, career, and financial aid opportunities. The SOS staff is dedicated to supporting  school counselors and teachers by providing free college and career planning resources and services for students and parents.

Edsouth's Student Outreach Services also provides support to educators in a variety of other ways, such as:

• Attendance of professional conferences, such as The Tennessee Counseling Association annual conference,  the Tennessee School Counselors' Institute, the College Board Forum, and the National Association for College Admission Counseling annual conference
• Volunteer representation at multiple College Goal Sunday financial aid workshop sites
• Annual assistance to local school counseling associations
• Annual participation in local events designed to promote early college awareness through organizations such as Junior Achievement, Girls, Inc., TRIO, and Schooled for Success
