Job Description:
Katiah works with students, parents and school staff predominantly in and around the metropolitan Memphis area, as well as in Fayette and Tipton counties. Her primary presentation, "Planning For After High School," is geared toward junior and senior high school students and covers information pertaining to choosing the right career, and how to successfully navigate the college admissions process and the financial aid process. Presentations on these topics are also available to parents and community members. Katiah also offers assistance in training school administrators, faculty, and staff on the Tennessee College and Career Planning System and helping students utilize this system in career exploration. She also helps make students, parents and school staff aware of a great resource, eCampusTours.com, which is a virtual tour website that allows students to virtually visit over 1,300 schools across the whole country. Work Experience:
Katiah joined Student Outreach Services in 2008. Katiah completed her BA degree at the University of Memphis in 2002. Shortly after graduation, Katiah began working for Girls Incorporated of Memphis as a program specialist and then as a Career/Financial aid advisor in the TRIO program. Her five years as a Career/Financial Advisor servicing Manassas and Southside High Schools allowed Katiah to help students and their families reach their post-secondary educational goals.
About Katiah:
Katiah, the youngest of four, was born in Kokomo, IN but moved to Eagan, MN in 1985. Katiah enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, family, and friends.
