Job Description:
Tanya's role as Director of Communication and Outreach includes a variety of responsibilities both at the local and national level. Locally, she coordinates print and online communication for a variety of Edsouth programs and serves as the liaison between the executive committee and the technical team. Nationally, she, along with an excellent team of photographers, writers, and engineers, helps college bound students through eCampusTours.com by providing fresh, informative college planning advice and virtual campus tours. She frequently represents Student Outreach Services at professional conferences and meetings nationwide and frequently works directly with college administrators to offer tools to help gain exposure and efficiency for their campuses.
Work Experience:
Tanya was appointed as the Assistant Vice President and Director of Communications and Outreach in July of 2007. She previously served as the Director of Student Outreach Services since November 2004 after transferring from her position as Team Lead for the Loan Data Management department at Edfinancial Services. Prior to joining the Edsouth family, she worked for four years as the Assistant Director of Admissions at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where she acquired her love of working with college-bound students and their families.
About Tanya:
Originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, Tanya moved to Knoxville, Tennessee in 2004 after having spent several years in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their daughter and frequently travel to visit family and friends. Although no longer working directly in a school setting, Tanya remains active in the higher education community and spends much of her time researching and learning about current events and issues affecting today's college-bound youth.
